Is ChatGPT really HAL from 2001?

Testing the hypothesis that ChatGPT is really just the HAL computer from “2001: A Space Odyssey” resulted in this exchange between attorney Thomas James and the bot currently calling itself “ChatGPT.”
Draw whatever conclusions from it you want, but I wouldn’t recommend relying on ChatGPT to open a door for you.
